Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap presented the resolution in the Assembly, highlighting that under Modi’s leadership, India has reached significant global heights and is on track to become a developed nation.

Chief Minister Sai shared that he had served as a Minister of State during Modi’s first term as Prime Minister and witnessed PM Modi paying respects to Parliament, the country’s largest panchayat, on his first day. In his inaugural speech, Modi pledged to be a well-wisher of the poor, striving to lift them above the poverty line.

He promised that the government would remain dedicated to the poor and work for their benefit. He recalled the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission on August 15, 2014, which was initially met with scepticism but has since proven its importance. The mission has raised awareness about cleanliness and led to the construction of toilets in millions of households.

The Chief Minister stated that after Modi took office in 2014, electricity was brought to over 14,000 villages that had been without power even 65 years after independence. He also highlighted the opening of Jan Dhan accounts for more than 45 crore poor people.

Sai praised the efficiency of PM Modi’s governance, citing the direct transfer of benefits to beneficiaries’ accounts through DBT, contrasting it with previous inefficient systems. He credited Modi’s successful leadership to the blessings of villagers, the poor, and farmers.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Sai commended PM Modi’s skilful leadership during his first term, navigating adverse circumstances and elevating India’s global standing. He also praised PM Modi’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the vaccination drive that provided over 200 crore vaccine doses. He emphasised that Modi’s governments have consistently prioritised the welfare of the poor, enabling lower-income groups to live with dignity.

He stated that the state government has fulfilled Modi’s promises with determination. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, and other legislators also expressed their views on the resolution.
